Abava/Irlava air field was an airfield 67 kilometers west of Riga, Latvia.
The airfield was built by the Soviet Union in the 1975-1985 timeframe. It was used for agricultural activities by state-run Aeroflot.
The airfield consists of a small runway, three small platforms and a hangar-like building to the east of the runway

Latvian Airfields described the airfields condition on 10 April 2011 as:
RWY surface is good, occasionally small stones and sand, but generally very clean.
Taxiway good, except there are tiny pieces of glass approx in the middle of the main taxiway.
No other obstacles.
Can be used for takeoffs and landings.
The airfield is uncertified however, meaning it is officially closed to all taffic.
