The First Zaan Glider Club (Dutch: Eerste Zaanse Zweefvliegclub (EZZC), also known as glider field Heemskerk) was founded in 1936.

Although founded in the area around the river Zaan (near Zaandam), it has been flying from the dunes between Heemskerk and Castricum for over 55 years. 

 

The club owns a fleet of 6 gliders, ranging from trainers to modern competition aircraft. Active flying occurs from March till November, after which the winter maintenance period begins.
