Malnava air field was an airfield 220 kilometers east of Riga, Latvia, and a minimum of 8 kilometers from the border with Belarus to its north and east.
The airfield was built by the Soviet Union in the 1975-1985 timeframe. It was used for agricultural activities by state-run Aeroflot. It consisted of a small runway, and a medium sized platform to the northwest of the runway.
No photos of the airfield while in use have been located
Latvian Aviation only listed the airfield in 2011, without any further comment on its state.
In 2016, MyAirfields description considers the airfield's state "Good". It continues: Runway is in fairly good condition. Some bushes at the side of the runway. This airfield is located within the eastern border area where a flight plan is mandatory, see AIP.
For this reason, it is possible that the airfield is not available for any flights or only with proper authorisation because of the proximity of the border.
