Penkule airfield name was an airfield 75 kilometers southwest of Riga.
The airfield was built by the Soviet Union in the 1975-1985 timeframe and used for agricultural activities by state-run Aeroflot. It consisted of a small runway, taxiways and two platforms to the south of the runway.


No photos of the airfield while in use have been located

Latvian Airfields listed the airfields condition in 2011 as 'Good; suitable for touch-and-goes and full stop landings'. In July 2012 it updated the status to RWY surface is good: relatively clean and even, on some places growing grass. Can be used for takeoffs and landings after making sure there are no tires on the RWY. This airfield is privately owned and should not be used without prior permission.
Successor to Latvian Airfields, MyAirfields, issued a warning in 2014: runway temporary unusable due to agricultural stuff on the RWY.
The airfield is uncertified, meaning it is officially closed to all traffic.
