Sallanches-mont-blanc airfield (ICAO: LFHZ) was an airfield 450 kilometers southest of Paris.

The aerodrome was created in 1975 on a 17 hectares property of the city of Sallanches in the Arve valley.


1980 - The runway appears degraded but the aviation activities remained strong. (Institut Géographique National)

In 2000 the airfield was used for based pilots but also for small passing planes. It was also frequently uused by mountain rescue helicopters (Institut Géographique National).

The airfield was repeatedly threatened to close, but its users resisted. However, in 2020, the mayor finally won his case and successfully closed the site. The airfield was permanently closed on 1 September 2020 and the hanger was quickly torn down.
