Skakai airfield is an abandoned airfield 200 kilometers north-northwest of Vilnius, Lithuania.
The airfield was built by order of the Lithuanian SSR (a state within the Soviet Union) Council of Ministers in the 1975-1985 timeframe.
It was used for agricultural activities by state-run Aeroflot. It consisted of a runway, a taxiway and a medium sized platform to the east of the runway.
No photos of the airfield while in use have been located
Jaunius sent me a photo of the abandoned airfield, taken in 2009. He also reported that since this photo was taken, part of the airfields' runway was dug under.
