Valgunde air field is an airfield 35 kilometers southwest of Riga, Latvia.
The airfield was built around 2008. It is very suitable for ultra light aviation.
Aerial photos of the new airfield (MyAirfields).
According to Latvian Airfields (in 2011) this airfield was completed only 'a few years ago'. Although it looks reasonably well kept, it needs some work to improve flight safety. The runways are clearly marked, but trees at the end of some can make it dangerous to be used. The airfield is uncertified and thus officially closed to all taffic. The airfield appears to be well maintained and open though.
